Turbo Dismount Android - Frequently Asked Questions
Updated January 24th, 2016
NOTE: As the first thing, check that your game is the latest version! Also, we strongly recommend updating your device to the latest version of Android.
Q: Your game is free! How do you get money for food?
A: Excellent question! Contrary to popular beliefs, app developers don't survive on free downloads. All our work is accomplished with your support:
buy the premium unlock or some of the smaller bundles if you like to Dismount, or watch a video and try out the vehicles if you'd like to support us without spending cash.
Q: Who do I contact about refunds?
A: If you have a valid concern about unauthorized charges to your credit card, here's a link with more information: Google Play Support for Unauthorized Charges
Q: I'm a YouTuber / Twitch streamer with my own channel! Can I make a Turbo Dismount video and
monetize it with ads?
A: Absolutely! We just ask that you provide a link to the game on Google Play, App Store or Steam in your video description.
Q: I deleted the game and re-installed it. Where are the in-app purchases I paid for?
A: If you've deleted the game and want to get back purchases that you've made, we've got you covered. On the top right corner of level and vehicle selection screens is a button called Restore Purchases. Tap it, and all your previous purchases will be restored. Make sure you have a working online connection, and that you are logged in using the same account that made the purchases!
Q: I have a new Android device. Can I move my purchases to it?
A: Yes! All your in-app purchases in Turbo Dismount work on all your Google Play devices. Simply make sure you are logged in to the same Google Play account that made the original purchases, and press the Restore Purchases button in Turbo Dismount to unlock them.
Q: The game is lagging quite a bit. Is there anything I can do?
A1: Yes. You can try the following:
- Close all other apps.
- Power down the device and reboot it. This clears up its RAM.
A2: Please note that we officially support devices with the following minimum specs:
- Multi-core CPU
- OpenGL ES 2 Graphics
- 512MB RAM
- Android 4.1 or newer
- Google Play Services supported - use the green controller icon in the main menu to
enable / disable
- Preliminary support for Android TV
- Supports Bluetooth game controllers
Q: I'm trying to make a purchase but the game insists I'm offline, even though I'm not! Why is this happening? In-app purchases are working in other games on my device!
A1: As best we understand, these issues are related to Google's new In-App Billing framework (version 3). We are using this newest version, and there are connectivity issues that are beyond our control. Other games may still be using version 2 of the In-App Billing framework, and that's why they behave differently. The good news is, we've heard from some users that simply trying again later may fix the problem.
A2: One thing that may help is clearing the Google Play Store cache. To do this, go to Settings -> Apps -> Google Play Store -> Clear Cache
A3: Rooting your device seems to cause issues with in-app billing in some applications. This bit we can't help with.
Q: My device doesn't meet the minimum requirements but you should support it!
A: Sorry, no. Turbo Dismount is a pretty demanding game with all the physics simulation
and replay recording that's going on. It doesn't matter if a device is popular - we can't
make it run the game fast enough for you to have a good experience. Sorry.
Q: Turbo Dismount is crashing when I select a photo, thereby giving me less enjoyment than I'd expect from a quality experience!
A: Some photo and image picking apps, especially camera apps, behave badly and may
occasionally crash when used with Turbo Dismount. We're looking into this.
Q: Why can't I find where to customize Mr. Dismount's face?
A: Face picking loads a lot of photos into the RAM of the device, causing instability and crashes on devices with limited memory capacity. To avoid this, the face picking functions have been disabled on devices with only 512MB of RAM.
Q: Why can't I record replay videos?
A: The built-in Everyplay video recording module was causing instability and has been disabled in the current version.
Q: Where can I download user-created levels?
A: User-created levels are only available on the Steam version of Turbo Dismount, available for PC and Mac. Due to technical limitations on mobile platforms, the functionality is not available on Android and iOS.
Q: What issues are you currently aware of?
A: Thanks for asking! The phones that have Videocore IV graphics hardware experience poor performance and crashes (Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 for example). We are looking into these problems, and if you come across crashes, please give us as detailed descriptions of how they happen as possible.
Q: I've bought Turbo Dismount on another platform, can I get in-app purchases for free?
A: Sorry, no. There's no way to gift in-apps, and we have no way to link a Google Play purchase to a Steam or iPhone App Store purchase.
Q: I have a different problem, and none of the above instructions are helpful. What do I do?
A: If you haven't already, contact us via the email address below.
